Online guitar lessons allow for students, such as yourself, to learn guitar from the comfort of their own home.  Also, online lessons, at least with membership sites, allow for an easy and portable way to take lessons anytime and any place.  I have used several different online guitar lesson websites and have found some of them very helpful.  I can use my computer at home or learn at school or a friend’s house.  Online lessons also allow to easily work at your own pace and on your own time. 

However, not all the sites I tried were helpful so here’s a good quick way to see if an online guitar lesson website is right for you.  First, and most importantly, make sure that the website has online video lessons!  If you can’t hear and see how to play what the teacher is telling you then it will really get frustrating.  Video lessons are the best and most cutting edge way to learn how to play guitar quickly and easily.

 Second, make sure that you can login to the website using your own login name and password.  These type of websites allow you to access your guitar lessons from any computer whenever you want…all you need is an internet connection which almost all computers have these days! 

Third, make sure that the instructor who designed the course has experience in playing and teaching the guitar.  You would be surprised to find out how many of these websites are run by amateur guitarists that won’t be able to teach you much of anything. 

Fourth, remember that you get what you pay for!  One of the best things about online guitar lessons is that they are relatively inexpensive compared to traditional learning methods.  The reason for this is the fact that the teacher can literally teach hundreds if not thousands of people at the same time thanks to the beauty of the internet.  The cheap sites that look too good to be true usually suck big time!  Spend a little more up front and you won-t need to keep buying different products till you find a good one.  From my experience, you are looking at spending between $45-$117 for a quality guitar course.

No, it’s toltally different, in piano your left hand is playing the bass clef and the right is playing the G clef, with guitar your left hand is turned upside down, the only good thing is that your fimilar with the G clef music, you just have to learn where the notes are on the guitar. Tabs are confusing once your use to reading music notation, the lines represent the strings of the guitar, and the numbers represent the frets that you have to play in, zero meaning to play the string open, and an x means that string is not to be played. The piano don’t hurt your fingers like the guitar does, you have to have calloulses before you can play the guitar wihout pain. I think all that it’s going to take is for you to learn where the notes are on the guitar, and get those callouses. Guitar is not as easy as eveyone thinks it is, maybe if your going to play just a few chords it’s easier, but not if your going to learn how to play correctly, chords, notes, and where they are on the guitar, and how to use your fingers, the nails on the left hand have to be very short, and if your going to play finger style or classical you have to have a little nail shaped just right on your right hand. If you’ve played piano for five years I don’t think you’ll have any trouble, it may be confusing at first, but I think you’ll be able to adapt. In the tab there should be six lines. Each line represents a string on a guitar. The E string at the top of guitars or the lowest sounding string is the bottom line on the tab. The highest sounding string is the top line of the tab. You read it from left to right so the number that is the first from the left you play first, the second from the left you play second and so on.

your right it is an awesome blues song! The count is basically a 3/4 feel but double up the count so you are essentially counting (1,2,3,4,5,6- 2,2,3,4,5,6- 3,2,3,4,5,6 -4,2,3,4,5,6)

I believe you are referring to the descending run that uses the basic position of the minor pentatonic scale. It basically starts at the top of the position and descends three notes and moves back two note and descends three more notes then back up 2 then down 3 then back 2 etc. This is a very standard sequence and is often utilized by page during that era of his playing. Start off slow and try to build up speed as you get the sequence down.
