Blues Guitar Lesson on the Web

Blues Guitar Lessons Blog

There are many, many sites on the web which offer guitar lessons.  However, finding quality sites that provide specific types of lessons always seem to be a bit of a challenge.  My specific interest is electric Blues Guitar lessons, as I am always interested in new, better, or unique blues experiences.

Additionally, there are many types of blues styles as well as teaching methods.  Consequently, this blog is initially focused on the task of reviewing and possibly recommending the myriad of blues guitar lessons options on the web.

Recommendations from readers are greatly appreciated.  However, a method to evaluate them would be helpful.  Here are my suggestions (borrowed and modified for relevancy from Roger C. Parker’s NewEntrepreneur.com):

  1. Speed. A fast-loading home page speed is critical to the success of any web site. If visitors have to wait for large graphics to download, they are likely to leave and visit another site.
  2. Site purpose. The goals of the site should be immediately obvious.
  3. Engagement. Are the lessons clear and easy to understand.
  4. Navigation. How easy is it to locate lessons or related information. Your ability to locate “information” is of paramount importance. Information is useless if it cannot be quickly and easily located.
  5. Registration. Web site success depends on providing incentives to encourage visitor e-mail registration. E-mail registration permits the web site to follow-up with visitors at a later date, using alerts or newsletters. If a web site does not attempt to capture the visitor’s e-mail address, visitors may never revisit.
  6. Usability. Are the lessons easy to use, and clearly understood?  Is any technology used (video, flash, audio, etc) functional and efficient?
  7. Timely. How up to date is the information on the web site?
  8. Design. Is the design appropriate for the task the web site serves? Layout, colors and typefaces determine the site’s personality and image.
  9. Customization. Is the site capable of delivering personalized information? Upon repeat visits, can visitors resume where they left off?
  10. Call to action. Does the web site encourage you to take the next step, such as request more information or make a purchase?
  11. Community. Does the web site encourage feelings of belonging, enthusiasm and loyalty? Does it motivate you to become involved by asking a question or contributing a comment?

Conclusion
The point, in my mind, is to detemine useful Blues Guitar Lessons sites, not based upon traffic necessarily, but by the overall experience and results.
